President's Message

My mission is strive to meet
the varying and changing needs of our members while reaching
out to the community.
Because the social and marketing
aspect of FCWL is important to many members, we will throw at
least one good cocktail party and provide several opportunities
to mingle at mixers.
FCWL will offer a broad range
of educational topics at our monthly luncheons. To ensure
that we meet the educational needs of all our members, we want
to hear from you about topics that are of interest.
With the newly formed Fresno
County Women’s Alliance, we will focus on updating the
Fresno County Women’s Hall of Fame to honor outstanding
women in Fresno County.
We will train lawyers to assist
victims of domestic violence in need of legal assistance through
Project First Step.
Through our partnerships in
the community, we will provide clothing, food, toiletries, and
necessary items to those in need.
We will honor outstanding girls and
women with the Hanson Award. We hope you all come
to the Hanson dinner and help grow the scholarship fund.

IN MEMORY OF
JUDITH ANN LESLIE SOLEY
|
By now, we all have heard
of the tragic loss of Judy Soley. Judy was a cherished mother,
friend, and colleague who will be dearly missed in the legal
community and community at large. She was the former president
of the Fresno County Bar Association and Fresno County Women
Lawyers. She will be remembered as an inspiration to women
in the Fresno legal community.
A memorial scholarship
fund in honor of Judy has been set up by her family. If
you would like to donate, please write the check to the
Judith Leslie Soley Memorial Fund for Disabled Students;
and write Boalt Hall School of Law in the memo line. Mail
